Theme styling
The widget is built to inherit your theme rather than impose a look of its own. There is no colour picker, and that is deliberate.
What it inherits
Section titled “What it inherits”- Typography. Fields use the font your theme has already set for that part of the page — family, size and weight.
- Colour. Borders, focus rings and accents are derived from your theme’s own text colour rather than from a palette of ours. A dark theme gets light controls without configuring anything.
The practical effect is that the fields look like the rest of your product page in most themes with no setup.
Why there are no style settings
Section titled “Why there are no style settings”Shopify’s own guidance for theme app extensions is to keep configurable settings to a minimum and inherit theme styling where possible. A widget with twenty colour pickers looks correct in the theme editor and wrong on the storefront the first time a merchant changes their theme.
Inheriting means your options keep matching when you restyle or replace your theme.
Error messages
Section titled “Error messages”Validation messages use a fixed red, because it has to stay legible against any theme background — deriving it from your text colour would make it invisible on a red-accented theme.
If it looks wrong
Section titled “If it looks wrong”The usual cause is a theme that sets styles very aggressively on form elements inside the product form. Contact support with your theme name and a link to an affected product page.
Do not edit your theme’s CSS to patch around it. A theme edit survives an app uninstall and becomes a mysterious rule nobody can account for later.
